Build a Web Site
Editorial Policy
How Build a Web Site plans, reviews and publishes practical guidance.
Our editorial goal is to help UK small-business owners make practical website decisions without unnecessary technical language or disguised sales pressure.
Editorial principles
- Explain the reader’s options, limitations, risks and next action.
- Separate one-off cost from ongoing cost and identify commonly overlooked ownership costs.
- Use primary sources for changing product, search, regulatory and security information.
- Do not promise rankings, traffic, revenue or a universal “best” product.
- Do not invent clients, tests, qualifications, awards or statistics.
- Disclose commercial relationships that could affect a reader’s interpretation.
Review and publication
Drafts should pass structural, factual, language, source and technical checks before publication. Important changing information receives a separate fact-checked date. Publication dates are not artificially refreshed when no meaningful update has been made.
