Evaluate a feature before installing it

Prioritise reliable basics

Clear contact routes, useful site search, accessible forms and accurate availability usually create more value than animation or an unattended chatbot. Fix the customer journey before adding another tool.

Connect systems deliberately

Decide which platform is the source of truth for customers, bookings, payments or subscriptions. Avoid chains of automation in which a failure can silently lose an enquiry.

Review features after launch

Usage and completion rate.
Error and abandonment reports.
Privacy and consent wording.
Permissions and supplier access.
Cost, renewal and unused capacity.
Export and recovery test.

Use a feature retirement test

Ask what would break if the feature were removed tomorrow. If nobody can identify a customer or business process that depends on it, disconnect it in a controlled test.
